Christmas Morning

Christmas morning after the frenzy of gift opening. The tree was overflowing so much that the gifts were on either side of the front of the tree. Oh the boxes galour!!

Isn't this a gorgeous sunrise?? It was taken in Nov around 730am from the hospital. The second pic was the next day around the same time.

But on the other hand, sunsets are just as nice as big snow falls. Another pic outside my window....I do have a good view!

Icicles!!!

This is outside my bedroom window. Crazy eh?? Just like daggers. When some of them fell it sounded like smashing glass. The icicles out here were quite a sight to see....very very long...some longer/taller than me (5'4")

Winter wonderland

This is our winter wonderland right out my front door. This was 3 days before halloween. Crazy eh? In less than 24hrs we had accumulated over 3ft of snow!!! A skiier/snowboarder's dream....ahhhhhh the powder!!!

This is a sample of our fall colors. This was taken Oct 15th when I drove around Fraser Lake....45 min east of Burns Lake. Notice there isn't any red colors??......

Terrace road trip.

This is some gorgeous scenery on the way up to Terrace, BC. In Burns Lake the town was all in fall colors but the further northwest you go the greener it got. Was very nice.

My fave picture

I thought this view was gorgeous. Near the water you can notice an older wooden house/shack, not sure cause of the distance, but I liked the look of the hill going towards the water with all the wild flowers in bloom.

How high am I??

View of Francois Lake, BC...minutes west of Burns Lake although the drive around it took 6 hrs, 2 hours if you're driving highway speeds. The roads were about 85% gravol but extrememly well kept. Probably cause of all the logging out there.

Grassy Plains, BC....west of Burns Lake. Kinda reminds you of "Little House on the Prairie" eh?

I'm moving!!

Well, I'm not sure the next time I will add to my blog. I'm moving to Burns Lake next Tuesday and starting my new job at the hospital on Wednesday.
Things have been such a whirlwind lately, but definatley, all for the good. I think emailing me is the best bet to communicate with me, and for those who know me, you should have one of my four email addresses. LOL

Update

This is Jasper. He belonged to my landlady until last week. She gave him away. He was the bestest dog I've ever met. Here he's about 7 months, but totally has the 'old man' look eh?!! LOL.
It's been a week now since I left the law firm. I've been applying at some places. I can only have faith that God will keep me safe and sound. These trials which I have been going through within the last month have been crazy. I know what He's doing too...God wants me to learn to trust Him more; so why not send the trials my way and test me. What a genious!! Well I'm none the happy about this...I love to worry, whether it gets me anywhere or not, but when it comes to financial pressures, that's where I get really bad, mentally.
I'm surprised I haven't fallen into my usual depression over all this. I received my last pay cheque today, and thank God for that. Man was I getting worried about if I was going to receive it before the 15th.
I'm back in school full time again and it's going alright. I start PowerPoint/Outlook next week too, so that should be fun. I've made some wonderful friends at this school. I'm happy about that. Even one girl, Katherine, has a Christian faith background through her mom, so if I mention anything of the church etc. she knows what I'm talking about. Very cool.

I lost the job!

This past Tuesday (yesterday) I was let go from the law firm job. I'm not gonna get into the gruesome details, but I'm still not sure why great things happen, like the job, and then go so sour so soon.
I have an interview at a pharmacy tomorrow afternoon. It's full time too, just don't know how much it pays...hopefully better than $12/hr.

I GOT THE JOB!! WOOHOO!!

So I got the job I wanted the most. It's in a little 2 lawyer firm. But don't let that fool you, we're still really busy! I have a good trainer good....very patient. Where I work has all that I was hoping in a job.

#1-casual dress code!! I can wear jeans and still look nice, clean and professional; I don't wear them everyday, that's forsure....gotta mix up the wardrobe ya know...keep it exciting

#2- 1 hr lunch, that came as a perk, I wasn't looking for a long lunch, but it helps. For 30-45 min. I go to the school and work.

#3-the hours!!! 8:30am - 4:30pm...how awesome is that!!

#4- the pay....They are paying me more than what I asked!! What a blessing!!

#5- full-time employment...I was first told it would be part time for May, nothing in June, then full time in July....turns out some things happened there before I started and I ended up with full time.

I think that's my list of blessings!! So God is good to me....this is DEFINATE proof he cares for me. Woohoo!! I still get tired at the end of the day, but at least I still have a bit of a day left....since I'm done at 4:30!!!!

I NEED A JOB

I need a job, preferrably in the pharmacy field or legal field. I'm a legal secretary and I'm a pharmacy technician. HELLLLLP!!!

Can you believe it?? In april....??

It's 5:42pm on April 7/06 and it's 20 degrees!!! Wowzers. So warm. I don't want no freak snow fall to happen in May either. This weather is awesome....the perfect temperature for me too. I'm not a fan of weather over 25 degrees. mmmm

Update changed

My Dawson Creek plan has changed. I'm not gonna hand deliver the resume/coverletter. It's already emailed to them anyways, not totally necessary to hand deliver it. Also the potential problem with taking that job is I don't have any money to move up there with and I don't have anyone to drive the moving van from Surrey to up there either and can't afford that anyways. So....this wknd I do plan on driving up there, but just as something different to do. It's supposed to rain, hopefully it won't be totally ugly outside. Not sure if I'll go up on Sat or Sunday yet either. Maybe Sunday. Get away from the routine of things and just drive. Gosh, I don't remember the last time I just left and drove. Guess it's about time then. Also I'm still going to Vancouver/Surrey next wknd!!! Woohoo!!! Still psyched!!!

Job search update

This is my 2nd try to post this blog. Argh!
This sat. am I'm driving to Dawson Creek to apply in person for a posted Pharm Tech job. Dawson Creek is beside the BC/Alberta border. The drive will take about 4.5 hours too. I hope all goes well during the drive. A lady at my school gave me the tip to go there in person as she knows the Director of the Northern Health Authority.
Next wknd I'm driving (again) to Vancouver/Surrey for the Easter wknd. Woohoo!! I'm so psyched!! I get to see all my friends and family. I think all my time down there is taken up with visits and shopping and driving around. Melissa and I are going to Ikea too. That'll be a treat for me.
Today in my Quickbooks class (stupid program!!) we're having a potluck cause tomorrow is our last day of this course. Thank goodness!!

An addemdum to a previous entry about tattoos....I've been thinking. The circle tattoo will probably go on my left arm at the top, and I was thinking of it being red. Hmmm....watcha think?

My birthday evening.

These are my birthday presents. I got a new pot set and a pasta cooker. Yay!!! I so needed new pots. I also got a little hippo from mom and dad. Another to add to my growing collection. I had a good birthday dinner at Kelly O'briens too. My mom, Caitlin, Tenille, Dave and Janelle came. So another year goes by...............

This is just a thought...if there isn't any early prospects of a job in Prince George for what I'm trained to do, I'm also gonna look north of PG. Terrace might be the only location north of us that's civilized. I'm going to do my research on that town though. I've been told that the pay is higher in the northerner towns because of the need(s) for employees. My plan, God willing, is to build a nest egg while living in Terrace, or wherever, and then move down to Surrey, or surrounding area. This whole situation definately needs to be prayed over/about.

6 days till my birthday....soooo close to 30

I know it's not my birthday yet, but I didn't know what else to blog about. haha. Next monday I turn 27. I'm thinking I'm gonna have a problem with turning 30. I want to accomplish some things before then. I want to try skydiving, river rafting and I'd like to be in a serious relationship before then. sigh..... so how am I gonna do this?? Time will tell I suppose.
My mom is planning something next monday evening. She won't tell me. hmmmm....I wonder....

Bookkeeping Whiz

I did my bookkeeping final yesterday and I got 91%, then my overall mark was 97%, and I also did a bonus project which gave me another 5%, so my overall mark is 102%!!! Wowzers!! I'm the second student at this campus to get 100% in this course. I'm happy about that.

Ummm....My dad's in Saskatchewan right now working. He mentioned yesterday on the phone that he was driving for like 45 minutes without turning the steering wheel, it's that flat there. That's an ideal situation to fall asleep at the wheel, that's forsure! But not good at all!!!

I'm going to Vanderhoof today and tomorrow to help a friend paint some rooms in her rental trailer before the new tenants move in. I don't mind painting. She's giving me gas $ and some $ for helping her too, so that's nice. I don't mind helping ppl anyways; woulda done it for free.
Well gotta get some breakfast now. (I hope I wasn't too boring in this blog entry :) )

The circle design is tattoo #2 going on the top of my back but about 4 inches below the neck. Can't wait. I think I may get it done on the Easter long wknd when I'm in Delta. Woohoo!! I hope someone will come with me for the company.

I know, not the most exciting pic, but since this is my first tattoo, which I got in 2000 or 2001 I thought I'd show it cause I plan on getting 2 more, so I'll post those as well when they arrive. This is on my right ankle, just a band design, no meaning to it....just coolness...haha (geek!).

Test results

I did my conveyancing final exam yesterday and I got 99%!!! Wow. Probably the highest mark in the class. My best ever too. Now I'm starting bookkeeping on Monday for 1 month. That'll be fun, really it will be.

I really gotta take some pics on my camera, I want the rest of my youngest sister's wedding pics on it developed. During the dancing at the wedding, the song "I'm too Sexy" came on and Brad's grandpa came onto the floor wearing bright pink shorts, looking like boxers, and was dancing with his wife!!! Was awesome to see. I wonder what my grandma thought of that while sitting on the sidelines?? Hmmmmm.....

So I'm going to Vancouver on the Easter long wknd. I'm sooooo totally excited. (Not for the drive though....booooo :( ) I'm staying at my long time friend, Melissa's, place, and then gonna see as many of my friends while down there, and then loading up my car with as much belongings I can fit in the car and that will fit in my tiny bachelor suite back at home. Will be a short trip unfortunately, but at school we don't get Easter Monday off, just Good Friday. So ya.

It's 8:50 p.m. right now and I'm baaaaaggggged. Not sure why though. But it's bed time.....Cheers!

My youngest sister's wedding day. (Jan.14/06)

I'm a bit late on uploading my sister, Caitlin's, wedding pics. Her new husband's name is Brad. It was on Jan.14th/06. Very nice wedding. All went well too. There was even snow outside. They had a 3 wk honeymoon, and now back to routine. It's kinda weird, to me, it doesn't feel like either one of my sisters are married. Hmmmm.....

Yay! the pic showed up. Tons of snow yesterday...8-10in. supposed to get more today...i have all seasons too, not a good combo. it's funny, people in the lower mainland avoid at all costs driving in the teeny amount of snow they get but up here, ppl go to the mall like any other day. the northern ppl ar pros!! lol

Nothing much is new right now....so why am I blogging?

Got a final exam today on Family Law....looks difficult. I hope to keep my A. We're supposed to get more snow today. I think we still have about 5-6 inches worth. I'm actually ok with this year's dumpings of snow. Last year was ridiculous. Apparently one year yesterday, it was -37 degrees; we haven't even come close to that this year....probably just -18 to -20ish.

Wedding day eve (not for me :( )

It's 10:51pm. I just got home from mom and dad's place. This afternoon/evening lots of ppl helped set up the decorations, props and chairs for the wedding ceremony. Set up started at about 3:30pm and went till 8:30pm, very quickly. We all thought it was about 10 or 11:00pm. But yay, 8:30!! Looks very nice too. Winter wonderland theme. Quite appropriate for this time of year....snow snow snow!

When this wknd is all done with, I hope to post a picture or two online here.

Another wedding

Just a short post today. Tomorrow is Caitlin's wedding. She's very worn out because of all the preperations.
She's 19 and Bradley is 21. Young eh?? Ya, I know. Hope things go smoothly for them both after the wedding/honeymoon. They're embarking on a very new life.

We got a good dumping of snow last nite. Looks like about 6 inches, and it's all powder. But get this, it's supposed to rain later, so slush, slush, slush and then the potential of ice being formed will happen. Argh!! I don't like scraping that off my car windows.
Like I said, this will be short. I'll probably post pics in the near future if I can figure out how to get that to work.
