SUCCESS!

The fall fair event was successful in everyway!  Between my partner and I we have 2 parties and 4 possible recruits as consultants.  Makes me kinda nervous to start a downline but it does come with benefits, business-wise.

It was very busy for the whole day until about the last half hour.  There really wasn't much time to sit or even eat.  This sort of event brought me out of my comfort zone and started numerous conversations with strangers....then again it was easy to talk because of such a great product!  Kinda sells itself though ;)

My First Fall Fair

Tomorrow from 10-4pm I will be manning a Scentsy table at a local fall fair for home businesses.  I'll be sharing the table with my Scentsy sponsor.  We'll have 2 tables with product, a "sunglasses" rack from Zellers to hang our scented bars, and a wall rack to display our warmers (plugged in).  We're both kinda nervous but once we get there and the other tables/businesses are set up we'll calm down, I'm sure unless we're hopped up on caffeine, and have a great time.  That's what I'm expecting at least.
I have 2 holiday plug ins ($48), Bluster and Blizzard, which I already sold to a co-worker so I have to put those on hold under the table as she may show up, otherwise she'll get them on Monday.
BLUSTER PLUG IN

BLIZZARD PLUG IN

The latest 2 basket parties that just ended were really successful and my commission for this month will be almost double than last month's.  Still, it goes to bills and paying for other orders on the credit card. Tis life....

A Few More new Tops For Summer

I got these 3 tops from Bootlegger and all from the clearance rack.  I also got some clearance rack Silver jean capris but couldn't find a picture of them..I haven't worn them yet as they are a debatable addition to my wardrobe.  Will have to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion.

I have a strapless top I'd like to take to California but finding a strapless bra in my size is hard and the usual stores don't have it and I don't want to pay over $100 from the specialty store downtown. Hmmmm....Victoria's Secret may have to be the other alternative BUT I'd have to pay $25.99 for shipping to Canada based on the total amount of the order I was gonna place, but didn't.  Sheesh!!  The only location in BC is a new store opening in 3 days at Metrotown.  Oh the dilemna.  Maybe California can help me out?

I think my style is slowly evolving, partly because I'm a bit more brave to wear different styles because of the weight loss.  I like the 90's style, or is it 80's?  It's been revisited but redone as well.  The top 2 blouses I got are polyester so kinda flowy but could be warm as well.  They're cute with capris and my brown Clarks sandles.

Anyways.  My updates have been much less frequent but I think I've lost the blogging-mojo I used to have.  I'm not reading as much either and I have a potentially good book called "Made to Crave" but only got 3 chapters read so far.  Scentsy is taking up my evening time as well but that's a good thing :)  I'm really enjoying Scentsy and this month has been the most successful for me so far.

A Style I Love

This is my comfy new look.  The cardigan I got is actually a 2-toned maroon but I couldn't get the colour to show up on the website.  The cardigan is Joe Fresh from Superstore and it's very light and soft.  The BC Lions t-shirt and jeans are from Old Navy.  I think I may have found my new comfy, laid back, ?retro look.  I don't know if retro is the right word but am lacking the right one.  How bout eclectic?  Still not sure.  I wore this tonite out for dinner with flip flops.

The above 2 tops are the others I'm keeping from Old Navy.  The sequined tank will need a little tank underneath it as the arm holes are a bit big but I think I'll be taking that one to Disneyland, or out for dinner while down there.  This is the first time for me to wear sequins, at least that I can remember.

Medical Trip update

A quick update, again.  When do I ever intentionally write a long update?

I flew via Hope Air to Kelowna with no problems except both descents (to Van and Kelowna) were a bit turbulant so was NOT hungry for dinner or snack.  I taxied to the motel which was average, surfed the net for a while before hunkering down for the nite.  The a/c was noisy when it turned on and it did wake me up around 2 am so had to switch to fan only.  (Some needless info for you.)

My appt was at 9am so gave myself plenty of time to get ready, grab breaky @ Starbucks across the street from the motel and then walk to the dr's office.  Funny thing happened while showering though.....I had this random thought "I didn't see a blowdryer in the bathroom".  You know how blowdryers are usually mounted to the bathroom walls, well not here there wasn't.  The significance of this thought was this was the first time I didn't bring my own blowdryer; I tried to pack light.  Now my subsequent thoughts were.... "I have no hair products", "Maybe if I towel dry hard, I can straighten my hair with the hair straightener.....but not really", "This is gonna be bad if I have to air dry it".  Ya I guess I was mildly freakin' out.  So after towel drying like a mad women, I decided to check other drawers for hopes of a the blow dryer.  I found it in the dresser drawer below the TV....odd place for it but soooo thankful it was there!  So the day started off ok.

Long story short, the dr appt ended up being only 30 min long as the shock tests showed I have mild carpal tunnel and it generally just flares up rather than all the time.  No surgery needed.  So what was originally planned as a 60-90 min appt was significantly shortened so after taxiing back to the airport, I had a lot longer to wait.

Once I got home, after 4pm, I unpacked and was quite tired.  Back to work the next day.  One specialist appt down, one to go for my knees.  Soon, hopefully really soon!

Flying On an Airplane

Which is exactly what I'll be doing in an hour or so and then tomorrow back home.  I got a call this past Thurs from the neurologist's office in Kelowna saying they have an appointment opening for me....this Wed, that's tomorrow.  I took the appointment because I've been waiting since January and the dr in town hasn't had an opening for me yet.

The lady on the phone mentioned Hope Air to me and to apply for a flight that same day since this appointment is such short notice.  Hope Air is a god-send for me and others needing to use it.  They provide flights at no cost to the 'patients', based on certain eligibilities.  At work yesterday after many phone calls back and forth with Hope Air, then my dr's office, then Hope Air calling me back about 3-4x afterwards, I got my flight booked and arranged.  So that meant cancelling my original hotel booking as I had planned on driving in case the flight fell through.  So that was cancelled and I selected a hotel close to the dr's office and they also had medical rates too....another god-send.

So no driving 8-9 hrs/day, no paying for a flight, lower hotel rate than regular rate, and my first of 2 specialist appointments.   Also since my extended medical coverage only covers $70/day, I will get the majority of my expenses covered.  Not too shabby.

This appointment is for the carpal tunnel in my right wrist, don't remember if they'll check my left one though.  To be continued....
